Pancreas Gland


This gland is located below stomach. This is a “Heterocrine or mixed” gland. Some part of this gland is exocrine and secretes digestive enzymes and some part is endocrine and secretes hormones. 



Pancreas secretes following hormones-
           Insulin – This hormone regulates level of sugar in blood. This hormone convert extra glucose into glycogen which is stored in liver .Deficiency of this hormone causes “Diabetes”.

                Glycogen – This hormone converts glycogen in to glucose during starvation.
